DC Comics unveiled their new logo design on their website yesterday January 19,2012 and it will be used on all of their material starting March 2012. At first I was not to impressed with the design of the logo until I realized why they had design it that way. The logo has the D and C combined together because like their characters in their comic books they live two lives as one. The D was peeled away to reveal the C just as a hero changes into his superhero outfit. Also, the peeling effect is similar to a page being turned in a comic book and a cape flapping in the wind. Both facts really blew me away especially the two in one idea and I tip my hat of to the designer who created it. I liked how the C represented some of the powers that the superheros or villians have. Some of the other promotion material for DC comics are also well done such as the Superman which is peeled away from above to reveal superman flying above. Then The Joker is within the C as if he was being locked up in a a Arkham Asylum. I am just impressed with the idea and I will pick up a comic book as soon as I get the chance.

I personally prefer the simpler designs that just feature the special powers of the superheroes. I think the ones with the actual heroes in them are a little too overwhelming but that is just my opinion. Both Marvel and DC comics have been going through a lot of changes lately. I am happier about the changes within DC comics. I am still skeptical on what Disney is going to do with Marvel comics.
